Day 1 – Arrive Kathmandu, Nepal

Airport transfer to our hotel. Arrival briefing with collection of passports for our final Tibet Permit process. Rest of evening free to relax or explore town.
Day 2 – Ride to Kodari

This is warming day on bike and ride to Kodari boader. We will stay in Nepal side at very nice and quite resort near the Nepal China boader.
Day 3 – Ride to Nylam

Morning departure for the Nepal-Tibet Border at Kodari, where after Nepal Immigration formailities, we will move over The Friendship Bridge and meet up with our Tibet crew, and begin our China entry process. Once clear, we will move up to Khasa gate for lunch. Stunning afternoon ride and 6000 foot elevation gain to our comfortable overnight accommodations at Nylam. Welcome to Tibet!
Day 4 – Nylam- Tingri

Fantastic highway riding today right up over Tong La (5050m) with 300 degree commanding mountain views of the High Himalaya Range back towards Nepal and Shishapangma (8012m) Roadside packed lunch near Khozo followed by direct views of Mount Everest via the saddles of our moving motorcycles and arrival into the village of Old Tingri late afternoon. Quaint but basic accommodation at the simple motel in Tibetan style guest house with absolutely STUNNING views of Cho Oyu and Mount Everest to the South
Day 5 – Tingri Acclimatization Day

Rest day to acclimatize before our tough ride into Everest tomorrow. Optional afternoon 3 hour off road ride to a little visited monastery, return to Tingri for overnight. Stay hydrated tonight!
Day 6 – Everest Base Camp

Challenging days ride into Qomolangma Nature Preserve with steep off road inclines, loose gravel, stone, and rough tracks. Packed lunch along the way, and arrival at the basic Rongbuk Monastery Guest House early afternoon. Late afternoon transfer by landcruisers to the Everest Base Camp check post. Return to Rongbuk for a look around the monastery and overnight.
Day 7 – Ride to Shegar

Early morning departure for our rough 100 kms ride out of the Everest Region and back to the main road, again with spectacular mountain views back towards Everest from Pang La Pass. Late afternoon arrival into Shegar for overnight. Comfortable hotel accommodation with hot shower!
Day 8– Ride to Shigatse

Morning ride over Gatseo La (5220m) with lunch near the interesting junction town of Lhatse. Long afternoon’s ride over another high pass Tsho La (4500m) and through small rural Tibetan agricultural villages. Late afternoon arrival into Shigatse, Tibet’s second largest city. Evening free to relax at our fancy hotel or explore. Dinner in town at an old Roadrunners favorite!
Day 9– Shigatse – Lhasa

Early morning departure for Yamdruk Tso Lake. Spectacular riding past an amazing (man made) emerald lake and up over Karo La Pass, followed by stunning up close views of the always snow covered Mt. Nojin Kangstan. Late morning noodle & tea stop on the lake, packed lunch lakeside depending on temperatures, or a bit farther on. We will make the steep sudden ascent and follow the road up over Kamba La and then endlessly down (spectacular paved decent!) into the Brahmaputra Valley, where we will meet the main road and follow it into Lhasa. Our route will take us right past the stunning Potala Palace , the old home of the now exiled 14th Dalai Lama! Excellent Tibetan style garden accommodations just minutes walk from the old quarter and the Barkhor. Old Tibet found here!
Day 10 – Lhasa

Must see morning guided tour inside the Potala Palace, wear your walking shoes! After lunch motorcycle ride to one of Lhasa’s outlying monasteries! Late afternoon available for last minute shopping! Farewell drinks & dinner tonight in town!
Day 11 – Fly Tibet to Nepal – Tour End

Early morning transfer to Gongkar Airport through the new tunnel for our flight back to Kathmandu. Transfer to the Summit Hotel or Nepal’s International Terminal for flights onward.
